Unfortunately, not everyone can reach interdependence, and some people may never even reach full independence. After many frustrating failures, we realized that the map we have is a map of Detroit. Why do we need a paradigm shift from time to time? Imagine we are in Chicago and try to visit the city by using a map. We just assume what we see is the way things are or what they should be. We seldom question the maps’ accuracy and we may not even be aware of their existence. We each have many maps in our head and we interpret everything we experience through these mental maps. Paradigm means “the way we see the world” in simple English. The author then discussed the concept of Paradigm and Paradigm Shift. I host a Book Review Club at work, where participants are not required to read the book, but come to listen to a member discussing a book.
